YouTube and my DVR are turning me back into a couch potato.
Actually I don’t think that I was ever really a couch potato. I have been know to sit down and watch a movie from time-to-time but 2 in a row is hard for me. But now there are several shows that I watch on a regular basis because of YouTube and my DVR.
Here is the current list of shows that I am pretty caught up on this season:
- South Park
- Friday Night Lights
- Studio 60
- Man Vs. Wild
- The O.C.
- Law and Order Criminal Intent
- Law and Order SVU
Other shows that I record and watch whenever are:
- Survivor Man
- Older episodes of Law and Order (CI and SVU)
- Dirty Jobs
Shows that I watch if I catch them
- Modern Marvels
- The History of… (a History Channel regular show)
Also I will spend a hour or so a week browsing YouTube to watch South Park or see other useless things like people lighting fireworks or building a Lego model.
Before my DVR I would watch the reruns of Law and Order on TNT and try to catch the O.C. but would hardly ever see it. There has definitely been an upswing on my part in the old TV watching (shoot I am even camping out in front of Best Buy for a new monitor).
I think I agree with the debate that that technology is not always good for us.
What did I do with all of this time before I watched TV?
